International Rotary Club Projects Seeking a 5580
Host Rotary Club

The District 5580 Grants Subcommittee (DGS) now meets on a quarterly basis to consider grant applications from District 5580 Rotary clubs.  Dates of future meetings: August 20, 2009; November 19, 2009; January 21, 2010 and May 20, 2010.  The meetings take place via teleconferencing except for the November meeting, which is to be held face to face in Fargo this year. Grant Application Forms, Guidelines, Fact-sheets and Final Report Forms are now posted on this website and are available through the links on the left hand side of this page. Please read Guidelines and Fact-sheets carefully to ensure that your application is completed properly.

Information on the CRCID (Canadian Rotary Committee for International Development) website are posted to the left of this page for those Canadian Rotary Clubs eligible for these funds. The TRF Guide to Humanitarian Grants Manual is an excellent document to download (use link on left) and keep handy for reference. For further contact information please refer to Section 11 of the Grants Application Form.

To see which grant best fits your project, click on Grant Applications in the left hand shaded area.  Each type of grant is explained and is available in pdf or Word documents.  Funds for the WCS Grants had been virtually exhausted as of the October 2008 Grants Subcommittee meeting.  New monies for WCS projects will be available by September 2009.  The annual assessment to D5580 Rotarians was increased from $10 to $15 per year at the Minot District Conference General Assembly in April to help fund more “bricks and mortar” projects for the coming year.  The WCS fund (established in 1997) dues had been $10 since inception and with rising material prices, an increase was long overdue.

Applications will be reviewed for projects electronically submitted to the DGS Chair by the 30th of the month preceding the scheduled meeting. Applications must include a letter of request from the host Rotary Club along with a map specific to the area of the project (or GPS coordinates) and must include a budget and floor plans. When making application, if questions should arise, you may contact any of the following:
